Loosies was produced over four years of writing and recording between the band's Troy, NY home base, SwordPaw Studios, and the rural Hudson Valley outpost, Howl Hudson, with producer Ryan Slowey.

Assembled as a multi-headed hydra of love songs and sonic voyages, a few trickled out as singles during pandemic times, but plans for a full-length release remained foggy; Front Biz needed a sign, and it came on a break during the Howl sessions. The band observed a Great Blue Heron in flight with its sights and trajectory set directly on them. The enormous bird was coming in fast and hot when, at the last second, it banked left and settled down in a nearby pond. Sometime later, the bird appeared to Rick in a dream with a message: to deliver Loosies on the 4th anniversary of the initial recordings.
